DewClear

Evening dew can decide a match before a ball is bowled. DewClear is practical ground equipment aimed at the problem the groundstaff are actually given: very little time and a wet outfield.

Field prototype

The problem

In many parts of the world, evening matches are affected by dew. The ball turns slippery, bowlers lose grip, spinners lose control, and fielding gets harder. Chasing sides gain an edge that has nothing to do with skill.

Groundstaff have short breaks and limited tools. Whatever helps has to work in the time available.

Who it is for

— Groundstaff and venue managers.

— Leagues and boards that schedule evening cricket.

— Teams, who want the toss to matter less.

Our approach

We are building equipment designed around the break in play, and testing it on real grass rather than in a workshop. We will publish what works and what does not once our filings are in place.
