Active Bail

When the ball hits the stumps, everyone should be able to see the same thing. Active Bail is our work on a wicket that settles that moment, and keeps a record of it.

Working prototype

The problem

A delivery can strike the stumps and the bails can stay where they are. Players, umpires and the crowd each see something slightly different, and the decision comes down to a replay and a judgement.

At the highest level of the game one dismissal can turn a match. At club level there is no replay at all, only an argument.

Who it is for

— Match officials and broadcasters who need a clear, fast answer.

— Clubs, academies and leagues that have no video review.

— Players, who deserve a result they can trust.

Our approach

We measure the moment of impact, confirm that it was a genuine strike, and record what happened. Our guiding rule is that the system should only respond when it is sure, and should always show its working.

Our approach is built around the standard wicket, not against it. It has to look, feel and behave like the equipment players already know.
